The Rational Use of Antibiotics and The Development of Antibiotic Resistance Campaign
Under the auspices of Dean Hanan Refaat, three bachelor students (Esraa, Toqa & Yomna) at FUE Pharmacy are launching an awareness campaign about ''The Rational Use of Antibiotics and The Development of Antibiotic Resistance'' among the students of 10 Egyptian High Schools over a period of 2 weeks.
This informative activity consists of a seven-question survey about the behaviour of High School Students distributed before and after a brief talk given by one of the 3 bachelor students. The activity is the cornerstone of the bachelor students' graduation project under the supervision of Dr Seif EL Hadidi - Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy, FUE.
Aiming to increase the awareness of the public youngsters on limiting the irrational use of antibiotics, this student-led activity is running as part of the Pharmacy Career Day programme at FUE Pharmacy in collaboration with the Marketing Department of FUE during the winter break of 2021-2022. Also, the results of the campaign are subject to publication as a scientific paper about behavioural change in Antibiotic utilisation patterns among a cohort of Egyptian youngsters.
