Despite the growing use of regenerative endodontic techniques (RET) in the last decade, these techniques are not showing consistent results. Although periodontal healing is reported to be between 79 and 100%, continued root development and dentinal wall thickening was only achievable in 05-100% and 28.2-100% respectively. The earlier studies conducted on using this technique combined all non-vital immature teeth regardless of the reason of loss of vitality, therefore, showing variable results in terms of continuation of root development and thickening of dentinal walls between 14.9-100% and 28.2-100% respectively. This presentation, therefore, aims to briefly describe the evidence supporting conventional endodontic techniques of non-vital immature teeth with in depth assessment of the available evidence of the regenerative endodontic techniques. In addition, the results of some in vitro and in vivo unpublished Leeds studies on the use of RET in managing traumatised non-vital teeth and new novel scaffold system will be presented.
