Zygomatic implants have been used to rehabilitate the atrophic maxilla. Reports of success rates are consistently high, 90-100% except when used in irradiated bone, 79%. Expanded usage includes trauma, maxillectomy, rhinectomy, ectodermal dysplasia, and cleft palate patients. Zygomatic implants offers rehabilitation with fewer surgeries, reduced treatment time, and no graft site morbidity. The purpose of this presentation is to review the literature regarding success and report upon the expanded usage of zygomatic implants to rehabilitate the compromised patient.
