In Collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School Of Dental Medicine
Since the introduction of three dimensional printing in the 80s of the previous century, the technology in this field has rapidly evolved and it is only relatively recently that it has become more accessible to businesses and individuals including the dental practitioners. Three dimensional printing is helping to advance the growing field of digital dentistry by providing finished dental prosthetics, surgical guides, physical models, orthodontic aligners and many other applications. Three dimensional printing is considered as a basic module in the digital work flow. The objectives of this presentation are to introduce the concept of 3D printing, show the different technologies used in this technology, emphasize its various dental applications in different fields of dentistry and highlight its limitations.
