FUTURE UNIVERSITY IN EGYPT
In Collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School Of Dental Medicine
Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) as internal derangement (ID) and Myofascial Pain Dysfunction Syndrome (MPDS) are among the most commonly encountered TMJ pathosis in our practice. The wide diversity of symptoms usually leads the patient to seek medical attention by other different specialties (as Otolaryngologists & Neurologists), before reaching an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS). In this interactive lecture we will present the know-how for the general dental practitioner to properly interpret the patients symptoms and to recognize the signs of ID and MPDS; as well as, providing the basic lines of treatment. As for the OMFS the different more invasive treatment modalities will be addressed highlighting our experience with them. We aim to spread the knowledge and know-how, and to achieve the best outcome for the patient using the simplest techniques possible for each case.
