Bioceramics are newer materials that have been developed for use as root-end filling and perforation repairs and also as root canal sealers. These materials are similar to MTA but incorporate additives and alternative materials. The main clinical question addressed is whether these improved versions of materials are more effective than the original MTA formulation or not.
