Over the last years, “magic recipes" and single file protocols, are being presented as the solution to the challenging anatomies and common difficulties of root canal therapy. Too much attention is being put on the “tools” and less on the concrete knowledge that should drive our specialty. This presentation will bring the focus back to the anatomical landmarks, canal configurations, clinical and physiological challenges. Magnification opens a wide variety of possibilities that allow us, clinicians, to interpret dentistry differently and adapt ourselves better to these challenging conditions that have to be faced.
