Probably few dental problems can match the ‘cracked tooth’ when it comes to diagnostic difficulties and treatment selection quandaries. This presentation will address two types of dental fractures commonly referred to as ‘cracked teeth’ and ‘vertical root fractures.’ They are distinctly different from each other both in etiology and diagnosis. A third type of dental fractures – those resulting from acute trauma, will not be covered in this lecture.
