The First International Conference on Business Studies (ICBS-2019)
On the 9th of October 2019, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Future University held its first International Conference on Business Studies (ICBS-2019) titled: “Challenges and Opportunities for Emerging Markets” at Kempinski Hotel.
ICBS-2019 aimed to engage scholars, policy makers, and business leaders from academics and industries, to discuss challenges and opportunities for emerging markets. The conference provided opportunities for networking, exchange of research ideas, and application experiences.
The opening ceremony hosted Prof Magued Osman, the former Minister of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt as a Speaker.
The First Session was managed by Prof Adel Zayed, Professor of Management at the Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University and the former Qalyoubia Governor as the chair, and two discussants: Prof Khaled Kadry, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University and Prof Gamal Shehata, Professor of Human Resources Management at Cairo University. The Session discussed research papers related to Business and Human Capital Competitive Advantage area.
The Second session was managed by Prof Soad Kamel Rizk, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Future University as the Chair, and two discussants: Prof Adla Ragab, Professor of Economics at Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University and Prof Azza Mohamed, Professor of Economics at Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Future University.
The session discussed researches covering the Challenges Facing Emerging Financial Markets and Information Trends.
The third session was a panel discussion that showed that academics and practitioners complete each other. The discussion was led by Prof Hayam Hassan Wahba, vice dean for postgraduate studies and research affairs at Faculty of Commerce - Ain Shams University. Mr. Mohsen Adel, Chief Executive Of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Mr. Ahmed Abou El-Saad, Managing Director at Azimut Egypt, Mr. Ahmad Shams El Din, Head of Research at EFG Hermes and Mr. Sherif El-Behery, Head of Banque Misr’s SMEs & Micro Finance Department participated in the final discussion with their interesting speeches that covered the Egyptian Situation in the Face of the Global Economic Development.
The conference gave some important recommendations that can be studied and applied in the real life.
The conference hosted two visiting professors from Cincinnati University, USA, one visiting professor from Malaysia and more than 100 attendees. They exchanged ideas and experience and expanded their networks.
