International Exams Unit

The International Exams Unit is part of the English Language Centre (ELC) at Future University in Egypt. The unit was established in 2015 with the explicit mission of catering for the international exam requirements of FUE students as they embarked on their post-graduate studies, by offering them the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

Since then, the unit has become an exam venue for language proficiency tests, such as IELTS and OET, school exams such as the IGCSE and the EST, and professional exams such as the CFA, ACCA, MRCS & RCPCH.

The unit is also a recognized Cambridge CELTA Centre, that trains teachers in the latest pedagogic methodologies and practices. Moreover, it offers several teacher-training courses that are accredited by Cambridge Assessment, such as the TKT and DELTA Module 1 as well as other teaching-related courses such as TEFL.

General English courses and Conversation courses are also run by the unit, in collaboration with the ELC. The unit prides itself in providing in-house teacher training and courses tailored to suit an institute’s needs.

Overview of IEU

The International Exams Unit (IEU) at Future University in Egypt is committed to providing the opportunity for personal and professional development by offering a variety of courses and exams.

The IE Unit is affiliated with Cambridge Assessment English and as such it periodically runs teacher-training courses, the most prominent of which is the Cambridge CELTA certificate (Certificate of Teaching English to Students of Other Languages). This 120-hour course is accredited and is well known around the world. Experienced and novice teachers both benefit from taking the CELTA as it presents the most up-to-date methodologies for teaching English.

We also offer other teacher-training courses and accredited certifications such as the TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) which is also a Cambridge-accredited certificate. This course provides the trainees with the theoretical knowledge to successfully pass each of the 3 modules of the test.

In addition, the Unit offers the Diploma for English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA). The Unit prepares DELTA candidates for Module 1, and since we are an accredited Cambridge Assessment Centre, we also host the exam for the same module.

As an authorized venue for both the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and the OET (Occupational English Test), the International Exams Unit also offers preparation courses for these international exams.

The IELTS tests both academic and general English and is used for applications in education and immigration. The OET, on the other hand, targets the medical field, mainly doctors, dentists and pharmacists.

Our affiliation with the British Council has given the IE Unit the responsibility of hosting their Cambridge high-school exams. These exams include the practical IGCSE science and computer exams (International General Certificate of School Education). Moreover, the IE Unit also hosts the CFA (Certified Financial Analysts) exam as part of its continued collaboration with the British Council, the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and the RCPCH (The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health), as well as the CD-IELTS (Computer Delivered IELTS).Moreover, FUE hosts the MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) three times per year and the EST (Egyptian Scholastic Test) six times per year for American diploma students.
