Office Hours Policy

The purpose of this rule is to provide for minimum requirements regarding office hours required at Future University in Egypt. The principal goal of office hours is to allow students access to faculty members. However, given the variations in time, location, and modality of courses, it is possible that some flexibility within this rule may best serve student needs for access to faculty.

Guidelines for weekly office hours for all instructors are as follows:

Full-time faculty: a minimum of two office hours for every two-hours teaching class or three hours for every teaching class more than two hours should be made available on weekly basis. These hours should be spread out over at least two different days.

Part-time faculty: a minimum of two hour per every class should be available.

General instructions for applying office hours:

By the second week of each academic term, department schedules of instructor office hours should be available in the department offices, posted on student portal and printed in the student schedule.

Office hours should occur between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Additional or by-appointment office hours are scheduled as necessary.

Office hours should be posted on faculty office doors and on the student portal.

The department should maintain a list of office hours for all course instructors.

Please respond to student emails and portal messages in a timely manner.
