Abstract :
Metformin (M) and vildagliptin (V) are co-administered in tablets used for the management of
patients with type II diabetes mellitus. We have developed an UPLC-MS/MS method for
simultaneous determination of M, V, and vildagliptin impurity (VI) in bulk, tablet, and plasma.
The method employed electro-spray positive ionization and multiple-reaction monitoring
mode. The m/z values for M, V, and VI were 130: 71, 60; 304: 154, 97; and 168: 151, 93.1
