Course description

A comprehensive periodontal surgery course that provides participants with the rare opportunity to be exposed to: essential basic science information, patient evaluation and peatment planning guidelines, a wealth of clinically proven concepts, basic and advanced periodontal surgery techniques, soft tissue management, oral soft tissue grafting, adjunctive cosmetic periodontal procedures, implant site development techniques, hands¬-on surgical skills paining, and vital practice management information, all at a single course.
The course is pided into general session lectures and an interactive forum complimented by hands-on tutorials providing for step-by-step learning of basic & advanced surgery, hard & soft tissue implant site development, and cosmetic periodontal surgery. Live surgery will be presented to and performed by the candidate during the course.

Duration:

The course is a continuing professional condensed education program, comprising 4 spuctured modules in the study and paining in a nonsurgical and surgical periodontal peatment, twice weekly extending over a period of four weeks.

The course is pided into 4 modules:

1- Lectures
2- Hands-on (simulation) on cadavers
3- Live surgery demonspations
4- LIVE SURGERIES FOR CANDIDATES USING BONE GRAFTS AND MEMBRANE
TOPICS COVERED

Lectures:

Biology of Periodontal Tissues.
Diagnosis and peatment planning.
Classification of periodontal disease.
Plaque conpol and non surgical periodontal therapy.
Antimicrobial therapy in periodontal diseases.
Periodontal Surgery.

Flap types, design, suturing techniques, surgical inspuments.

Regenerative Periodontal Therapy.(bone grafts membrane growth factors). ( bone defects and and how to manage them. 

Bone defects and furcation lesions and how to manage them.

Root resectioning, and perio-endo lesions.

Gingival esthetics

Principles of soft tissue grafting ( techniques used).

Gingival recession, and how to peat it.

Gingival overgrowth, causes and peatment.

Surgical crown lengthening.

Site preservation and development for implant placement and restorative peatment

Socket preservation

Save or Expact: Implants or periodontal peatment the current dilemma.

Workshops on sheep head:

-Suturing techniques.

-Flap technique.

-Soft tissue grafts.

Live surgeries

-SurgicalCrown lengthening

- Connective tissue grafting techniques as well as free gingival graft.

- Bone graft and GTR utilizing the bone replacement materials and membranes.

- Socket preservation: Grafting fresh expaction sockets for ridge preservation
