A Presentation on the Art of Self-Defense and Martial Arts
The Student Life Department has the pleasure to announce a presentation on the various martial arts and the art of self-defense. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
The presentation breaks down to an hour of theory and an hour of practice with a fifteen minute break in between.
- The theoretical component covers:
1. The necessity of learning self-defense whether boys or girls.
2. The biological reactions that occur during times of difficulty.
3. Methods of self-control and anger control.
4. Important pieces of advice that come in handy in times of difficulty.
5. An explanation of the self-defense techniques use during an attack with a knife, gun, or strangulation
6. An explanation of self-defense against the harassment of girls.
- The Practical component includes:
Training on some simple self-defense techniques that are used against attempts of grabbing someone’s clothes, strangulation, boxing or kicking.
Note:
- A female trainer will be available to train the girls
* It is advisable that both girl s and boys come to the presentation wearing sports or loose clothes
