Dr. Yousra Abdel-Mottaleb got her PhD degree in Pharmaceutical sciences from the laboratory of Toxicology, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, Dr Yousra research focus on isolation and characterization of peptide toxins from the venom of animals, including scorpions, spiders, sea anemones, cone and snails using biochemical methods (HPLC) and/or using molecular biology techniques (cDNA library construction, PCR) followed by characterization of amino acid sequence, using mass spectrometry. She also interested in carry out structure-function relation research and as such to determine and elucidate the ‘mechanism of action’ of a particular ligand using both experimental site-directed mutagenesis and computer-based modeling.
